Elder Christensen is at the MTC!

We took Peter to the MTC on Wednesday October 21st. It was a nice day and not nearly as hard as everyone said it would be. President Chynoweth set him a part on Tuesday night and gave him a pair of work gloves with a scripture about service attached and told him to "Get to Work". We had a nice dinner afterwards and then went to bed fairly early. We left for Provo about 6:30 the next morning and got there in time to go to The Brick Oven for lunch. After lunch we went to the temple to say our good byes and take a few pictures. We got a little teary eyed but not to bad. Peter said he was ready to go "This is what I was born for- let's get going!" so we took him over to the MTC a few minutes early. There were missionaries all lined up along the curb waving, cheering and clapping it was quite an impressive sight. We were directed to park at the curb and Chris jumped out to help with the luggage, the rest of us piled out for one more hug and then Peter followed one of the missionaries into the building and we drove away. The whole drop off thing took about 2 minutes. It is official we are a missionary family! We ate M&M's all the way home (thanks to my sister in law Gayle- she's been through this 3 times and said chocolate helps make it easier). One thing is for sure, He grew up really fast!

  2. I am glad it went well seeing him off to the MTC. I can imagine how bitter/sweet that was! You are so proud of him for his decision, but going to miss him like crazy. Please keep us updated on how he doing!
