I had the opportunity to go to Time Out for Women in St. George this last weekend. Several women from our ward Relief Society went together and we had a great time. Friday night Hillary Weeks did a mini concert. She is very witty and funny and shares her testimony beautifully through music. Kenneth Cope did the musical prensentation on Saturday he also was very good. There were several speakers over the two days. They spoke about things that bring us "sweet assurance". They talked about raising "good fruit" (children who have testimonies and act accordingly), the atonement, living the gospel and a lot of other things. My favorite speakers were Carolyn Rasmus and Emily Freeman. Emily Watts and Mary Ellen Edmunds also spoke they are both so funny I laughed until I had tears in my eyes. When I got home it was nice to share what I had learned with Chris and the kids. Sunday morning we had Regional Conference it was a very powerful meeting. All of the speakers spoke on laying a firm foundation of faith and how our safety in life depends on our closeness to the spirit. Over all it was a very rejuvinating weekend.
Things I know:
I know that Jesus is my Savior and that He is the tender behind the mercy.
I know that my Heavenly Father knows me and my family and that He loves us and wants the very best for us.
I know that the key to assurance and happiness is found by always having His spirit to be with us, and that we can have that spirit by doing simple things like saying our prayers, reading the scriptures and having FHE.
How exciting!!! We all need something like that!
