The Snow is so Delightful!

Living in the middle of the desert like we do there is very rarely any snow to play in. If it does snow it only lasts a day or two and then we are stuck with mud. This month we have had an unusual amount of snow, it is deep and has lasted for several weeks. We have taken advantage of this and played in it on several occassions. The kids favorite place to go sledding is on the hill that leads down to the baseball field. They have built up a couple of jumps and enjoy catching air. The hot chocolate and warm baths after have also been a big hit. We did have a small snowman but the next snowfall covered him up and the kids don't want to stop sledding to make me a new one.
One of the nights it snowed really hard I was working at the hospital. I decided to have a nap and let the snow plows get out before I headed home. I slept for a couple of hours only to realize the snow was coming harder then it was before. I decided to get on the road so that I could make it home in time for church. I followed a snowplow to Red Canyon and then had pretty good roads until I headed into Tropic. By the time I reached Cannonville I was pushing snow with the Jeeps bumper. By Henrieville the road had all but disappeared. I pulled into the church parking lot to wait out the storm/and for another plow to come through and ended up going to sacrament in my scrubs. It was a very nice meeting, it was good to see friends from the other side of the stake. By the time sacrament was over the sun was shining and the plows were catching up. The Bishops wife gave me some hot cocoa and Christmas cookies for the ride home and I was on my way and able to get home quickly after that. I was so grateful for the warm church building, the warm testimonies that were shared and the warmth of friends. It turned out to be a very nice Sabbath day.
