Ailinglaplap

Peter was transferred to one of the outer islands called Ailinglaplap. There is not Internet access on the island so we haven't heard from him since his transfer. He thought that snail mail could take any were from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on how often the mail boat showed up. The King of this island joined the church and is helping the missionaries open the island to proselyting. Peter is living in his basement. He said the mission president told him to emulate Ammon while serving in this area. The kids have all had fun with this and wrote him and told him to be careful when he cuts off the bad guys arms and wondered how many sheep he was tending. We did get a package yesterday with some really nice sea shells that he found,a few things he doesn't need anymore and a birthday present for Jake and Caiti. The package also contained a "living" cockroach. I hope he wasn't planning on keeping it for a souvenir because it had a very rapid death.
The pictures are some that were taken just before Peter left for Ailinglaplap. I guess Peter is "strong" in both body and spirit and very suited to the challenges and adventure of an outer island.
