The mission president gave Peter permission to call home since we didn't get a phone call on mother's day because he was on Alinglaplap. He sent us an email telling us about the phone call and encouraging us all to be home. Alex and Jake had a ball game and weren't able to be home but the rest of us were anxiously waiting for the phone call. I answered the phone and "someone" was talking in Marshallese he would talk really fast then pause and say "PUSH the Number Lady" and then start talking in Marshallese again. I cried out in frustration because I didn't know what button to push. "Oh Help! I just want to talk to my son and I don't know what number to push!" Peter started laughing and then said Hi Mom it had been him all along and I didn't even recognize his voice with the accent he has picked up. We were all so happy to talk to him and he sounded really happy and just a little homesick but not for us. He was homesick for the people of Alinglaplap. I am so proud of him and the love he has for the people he is serving. What a great day!!!!!!!
Ok..that is flat out mean...I hope you let him have it...Just Kiddin...but really us moms and phone calls... don't mess around..
